If your online business didn’t quite go the way you had hoped it would in 2007, then perhaps you should go back and examine your plan.

It has been said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing, over and over and expecting different results. This also applies to your online business.

If what you have been doing in the past didn’t give you the results you expected, then you have to do things differently. If you don’t, nothing will change and 2008 will give you the same results as 2007.

Here are Five easy steps that I applied a number of years ago that helped to grow my online business from zero to the six-figure income it is today.

1) Find a Mentor…

Find someone who has achieved the results you want for yourself. Emulate their success, learn from their mistakes and follow their advice.

2) Learn and Take Action…

Use the products you have purchased and take action to implement what you learn before buying anything else. If you have unread ebooks, read them! If you have unused software, use it! If you have unwatched DVDs, watch them!

3) Develop a Plan of Action…

Define what it is you want to happen, then develop a plan that clearly maps out how you are going to make it happen. You can’t get where you are going without a road map, so chart out your future and don’t deviate from the path. FOCUS!

4) Never Give Up…

This goes without saying - success won’t happen overnight, but it will happen. Don’t expect it to come without work. Be patient, follow your plan and make adjustments when necessary to ensure you stay on track. Success is just around the corner, so never give up.

5) Help Others…

To achieve true success, you must first help others. Help others who are not as experienced or as fortunate as yourself. When you help others it always comes back to you ten-fold.

Ok, that’s it. Follow these simple rules and you can’t help but succeed in 2008.

And I’ve just read it. Actually, I devoured it! It’s not very often that I’ll read a complete web page, let alone a 71 page report…

Let me give you the pros and cons of “My Quick Money Ideas That Worked: What I Did To Pay Off A $1200 Loan in 36 Hours, Finance A $2700 Event In 3 Weeks and Earn $331 For 2 Hours of Work”.

This report, by Rob Toth, is the 4th installment from his “Dear Employee” brand. The first 3 are all a great read so I wanted to see what this 4th book had to offer.

First, here are the three pitfalls of the report that I want to mention.

1) There’s a section in it of a “lesson” he wants to point out from an email that was sent by a customer (who misunderstood one of his offers). Sure there’s a lesson to take away, but it ran a little long (6 pages or so).

2) This book may give some “little gems” for experienced marketers but not much else. Anyone already making a full time living online will see nearly all of his strategies as review. I do say NEARLY all as Rob had a couple of “tricks” that he explains in his case studies which are still worth the investment in reading this even for experienced online marketers. But it’s mostly for the “haven’t started” or “just getting started” folks.

3) Cross promotion. The report has a few links to the resources he references in the case studies. But that’s expected. Afterall, this isn’t a general “how to” and “theories” book. It’s a look at what HE actually did and how HE actually did it.

Which brings me right into the “pros”…

This “My Quick Money Ideas That Worked” report is practically free (3.99) so there isn’t really a “money” investment.

But even a free product could still cost you (time) if it’s pointless…

This book is hardly pointless.

Flat out, the #1 reason why this is absolutely worth the time investment is *because* it’s not another general theory book.

In the mix of all of the ebooks that are released every week on general concepts and “how to” technical books, it’s good to instead get a very detailed look at four ideas that one marketer used to create “emergency cash” for his own needs.

Not just ideas they want to sell you on… but ideas and steps that they use for their own needs.

Each idea is actually somewhat different from the other.

He talks of what “sparked” the idea. Why he chose to act on it. What steps he took. Why the strategy was effective. And he has screenshots where needed. It could go into a bit more detail but it certainly doesn’t leave much to the imagination seeing as it flows through every point like a conversation.

In fact, that’s the other “pro” about this product.

The entire 71-page booklet reads as if I were sitting in a room with Rob and had him just walk me through a handful of his “quick money ideas that worked”.

I think this will be even more welcomed by readers now during the Christmas Holiday “I need money” crunch.

It provides useful emergency-cash information and is practically free. But more importantly, one of Rob Toth’s first ideas was last year for his “Christmas money” needs. He needed $1200, wanted $1800 but created over $2100. Sound good to you? That’s just one of the 4 detailed examples.

Private Label Rights (PLR) articles are ones that you purchase and you can rewrite them to suit your needs and make them unique. Using them as a starting point to create your own portfolio of articles is an effective way to drive traffic to your website or blog. The way to do this is to submit the articles to article directories such as OnTopicArticles.com with links back to your own sites.

After you have purchased a bundle of PLR articles it is in your best interest to rewrite at least a portion of each one to make it unique – you want the web crawlers to recognize them so they are not duplicates and index the links back to your site. There is a good chance that the PLR articles you have purchased have been sold to others so take the time to complete this important step. To realize a greater profit and more traffic to your site, you can rewrite the same article multiple times and as long as the majority of the content is unique you can submit each rewritten article to the same directory for maximum exposure. The more PLR articles you have submitted, the more links you will have and both of these facts can equal higher traffic numbers and better page ranks.

The common percentage guidelines that are used are to rewrite an article 20-50%. Keep keywords the same though, you want people to find and click on your articles. As long as you have the time, you can continue to rewrite your PLR articles and purchase new ones. There is no limit to the possibilities available to you if you are motivated to get traffic to your website through the use of PLR articles and article directories.

Another time saving tip is to submit your articles to the larger article directories, many smaller sites will feed off of the content on the larger sites. You may find that an article you submitted to one site is suddenly picked up and available on three more, this is great news! Quality content is going to spread along with the links back to your site, making you an expert in your niche.

Well, I truly think I have found it and as you guys undoubtedly know, to really succeed with our Internet marketing careers, we need to have great digital products that convert all of our qualified leads into real, cash-paying customers. I found a very interesting and informational article by jl scott that I wanted to share with you today, hope you enjoy…

I suspect people are reading ezines less NOT because of spam but because of what the CAN-SPAM Act did to internet marketers. It gives marketers the okay to send unabashed sales letters with no pretense of content.

Then, there’s the advent of the squeeze page. You’re required to join a list to get anything - sometimes including access to a sales page (which couldn’t possibly be more asinine).

Nevertheless, it simply creates more email no one is reading. “REAL” spam is easier to control than all the advertising we receive.

I send separate advertising to newsletter subscribers. After testing, I’ve narrowed it down to about twice per month. I try to provide the very best products and services at reasonable costs as a benefit to our subs.

However, the email causing the problems is that being sent several times every week - and as often as daily. Even sending “freebies” every day is an annoyance to the receiver. Maybe, even “especially,” since that is (usually) nothing more than a come-on to sell something else.

This is causing the over-kill that keeps folks tired of email. It keeps them from reading content they actually asked for because they wanted it - NOT because they were hijacked into it.

We can’t stop the marketers from abusing the right to send ads. Obviously they’re making money, or they wouldn’t do it. Send enough emails and you WILL sell. They play the numbers game.

Is there an answer? Yes! Get OFF lists sending email you don’t want. Unless your sole purpose is to receive yet more advertising from those who use squeeze pages to get you to sign up - unsubscribe! You’re NOT going to get any content.

But, UNSUBSCRIBE properly - no matter WHAT you cancel!

I DO have to wonder why folks bother to subscribe to newsletters and ezines if they aren’t going to bother to read them. Why send email to the junk folder or use those stupid “This is Spam” buttons (for something we subscribed to) when we can just unsubscribe? Is it stupidity or laziness?

If you’re getting on lists because you’re giving up your email address to get free stuff - and you ARE - there’s nothing to stop you from UNSUBSCRIBING if you’re not going to read the senders’ material.

But, DON’T call that material “spam” when you signed up for it! Sooner, or later, there’s going to be some accountability for saying something you subscribed to is spam - and causing the publisher grief.

3 - Combine all the content together - For instance, if you have two PLR reports, each of them being 20 pages in length, you can combine both to create a more in-depth report.

4 - Add it as a bonus to your own products - You can use PLR products to compliment your own products. Just be sure to make them unique to you before you offer them.

5 - Create your own 5-7 day minicourse. You create your own eCourse so you have something to offer your subscribers.

6 - Sell master resell rights to the reports - You can get fancy and offer master resell rights to others.

7 - Create your own viral reports - Embed your name and website address throughout the PLR product and let everyone share the report. This will brand your name and bring traffic to your site, because of the exposure.

8 - Increase your bottom-line by using PLR products as a OTO, upsell, downsell or use it to cross-sell your other products.

9 - Make it viral and give it away - Brand it with your name, website and Clickbank affiliate links. Then offer it as a free gift to those who subscribe to your newsletter or blog. You could even make it brandable so everyone who downloads your product could change all the CB affiliate links to theirs and pass it on. But your name and link to your site would still be in place to make it forever viral to you…

10 - Brand your PLR product - Then join one of the many giveaway events on the net as a joint venture partner and use it as your contribution to the event.

These search engine optimization (SEO) affects the websites whether or not they were even aware of the concept of keyword density and how it can help to SEO a website. Business owners will likely use certain words often depending on the type of products and services they offer just because it is natural and logical to do so. This tendency, however, can result in search engines boosting your website rankings for these particular keywords. The concept of SEO is much more involved and complex than simply using keywords frequently but business owners can gain some benefit just by naturally applying relevant keywords to their website.

Do you solicit feedback from your customers online?
